Spring Sunday

Outfit Details
Dress: Zara
Jacket: Italian Boutique
Bag: Jimmy Choo
Lipstick: Mac (Diva)
Shoes: Nine West (Trifted)
Scarf: Serbian Boutique

It's finally spring in Boston! Or it's just an illusion and in two day it's going to start raining, you can really never tell with this New England weather. I swear the sun purposefully comes out for two days reminding you of the beauty of warmth and short sleeves and when you take your spring clothes out form the depths of your closet, the sun disappears laughing at your stupidity. I swear I'm jealous of Californian weather where it's constantly a nice 70 degrees and you have nothing to worry about.

Today was my Easter! Yay spring yay school is almost out yay easter egg hunts. I usually wear nice clothes for the first 30 minutes of church and then run off after the service to the bathroom and change into sports shorts to run around and play soccer. This year however I decided I was going to be a grown up and not play with the six year olds and wear heels, a dress, AND lipstick. Everyone at church was so shocked to see me act my age haha

In the name of spring and warm weather I wore a festive white outfit. I paired a Zara dress with a blue scarf, grey petticoat, and some pretty snazzy heels. I have to mention that I bought these heels at a thrift shop for 7 dollars, SEVEN, and they were basically brand new. I was proud all day. But my favorite part of this outfit is my Jimmy Choo bag! I got this bag for christmas and legitimately slept with it for two weeks. It was great. The bag is made out of string-ray leather and is amazingly soft and has awesome detailing. I especially love the color because you can wear it year round. It's definitely super classy and the silver chain strap makes me feel like a queen. I love it.

Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and that spring is quickly coming!

Turtle Necks

Outfit Details:
Coat: Zara (Similar)
Turtle Neck: Trifted
Boots: Steve Madden

Yesterday was the first day of spring yet once again it snowed in Boston. What better way than to keep warm than furry coats and steamed milk and honey??

I love juxtapositions and wearing things that don't really match style wise. So I paired a trifted turtle neck with my faux leather jacket. It's a very blue (blue jeans & top) vibe mixed with badass dark vibe (boots & jacket). It's like 80's mom meets 90's daughter.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend with lots of sunshine and s(no)w.

A Day in Belgrade

Outfit Details
Jacket- Vintage
Scarf- Belgrade Boutique
Boots- Doc Martens
Jeans- HM
Bag- Vintage

For February vacation I went to Belgrade to visit family and see friends! I finally had a break from the constant three feet of snow in Boston and the -10 temperature. I was met with a nice 50 degrees and snowless pavements, it was wonderful.

The bag I'm wearing is my grandmas that I'm completely in love with. She told she bought in Egypt in the 80s in Cairo while she was traveling. The jacket I'm wearing is also a handmedown from my grandma, more like me asking to take it but that's irrelevant haha. She said she bought in Paris during the 60's while she was there on her honeymoon. So basically this is a mixture of my grandmas old clothes and my new ones, the best kind of mix :)

Suede Coat

Outfit Details
Jacket- Dad's old jacket
Bag- NTC flee market
Pants- Asos
Shirt- Zara
Shoes- Steve Madden
Sun Glasses- Italian street market

Boston under the blanket of snow is absolutely beautiful. How can someone not like snow?! Its soft, pretty, and gives 5 days off of school. Thank you mother nature and your wonderful power of showering us with crystalized water.

I tapped into my inner cowboy/Indiana Jones for this look. I got so many compliments for my jacket but really I just dug it up from my dad's closet. This jacket is definitely more than 30 years old and yet it's still hip. I also fished this bag out of my closet from like 10 years ago when I bought this at a New York flee market.

Thank you Boston Public school system for blessing me for yet another snow day tomorrow. You are the real MVP.

Dior gets it right

Another collection that caught my eye was Dior. The Dior woman, says Simons, is both "exquisitely decorated and disruptive. Simons was influenced by the 1960's house wife and modernized her to fit the 21st century woman. I feel like this collection really captures the essence of the modern woman. We are full of contradictions, classy but strong, serious but easy-going, intellectual but goofy. Simons says, "There is a sense of the romance of the 50's, with the experimentation of the 60s and the liberation of the 70s." He successfully synchronized all these elements into perfect mix of the past meets present meets future. Absolutely breathtaking.

Here are some my favorite looks.

1. Can I please have that coat. Anyone that can make a rain coat look that good is a genius in my book. Amazing. (Btw floral floral floral floral. it's back.)

 2. Cool futuristic take on a casual dress. Love the contrast between the soft and harsh materials.

3. That color is beautiful. Also are GoGo boots back? Dior says yes.

4. Prime example of 60's housewife meets modern rebel. This breathtaking embellished dress is paired with two tattoo sleeves.

4. Even the hair was super cool. It was like a futuristic take on the ponytail.

The Dior show was amazing! Everything fit perfectly together, the shoes, hair, makeup, clothes. Everything.  Modern with a splash from the past.

What's your favorite look?

Spring/Summer 2015 Paris Couture

Paris Couture shows have started!!! If there is anything that's on my bucket list, it is to go to Paris fashion week. It's like a match made in heaven; Paris, haute couture, and croissants. Life can't get better. I am absolutely in love with Giambattista Valli collection. Here are some of my favorite looks.

1. Loved how he used different materials for his dresses. Instead of color blocking, he used different materials for blocking. It's very classy twist to the color blocking of the 1950's.

2. Flowers. Flowers. Flowers. In every shape and form. Floral is back!

3. Silk tule with flower embellishments. Can't get better than that.

4. Once again, the detailing is breathtaking.

Utterly in love with this collection. What's your favorite look?

December break has finally arrived! My family and I went to Vermont for 5 days celebrating the holidays and the new year with family friends. Sadly Vermont and the East Coast has had a major lack of snow this year. But nice walks are still fun, especially with two crazy dogs, Lui and Bea, to entertain!
